Haagensen House is another striking, historic home set in Charlotte Amalie.
Located near Blackbeard’s Castle and Hotel 1829, the 19th century estate was formerly a Danish banker’s house and is now open for visitors. The estate is truly beautiful inside and out, with lavishly decorated rooms, antique furniture, works of art, towering archways, and a grand chandelier. Visitors who step onto the patio will be greeted by another great view of the island’s downtown harbor. One of the rooms in the main building features a number of pirate statues (19 total), including a life-size statue of Captain Blackbeard himself. Haagensen House is one of the many stops included on Blackbeard’s Castle’s guided tour routes.
