Historic Bakery Square
Recently renovated by its new owner, TOPA Properties, the classic West Indian buildings which surround a courtyard, now designed for parking, offer the downtown shopper a quaint, convenient, unusual shopping destination. Both the Footnotes Shoe store, specializing in large size designer footwear and Sugar, a store filled with an eclectic collection of designer woman's wear, reside. Beautifully detailed stone archways and a classic old-fashioned kitchen fireplace, where the original owners, Font's Bakery, cooked their breads for the island residents, showcase the authentic look of the early 1900's. Easy to access by foot or by car (plenty of parking in the courtyard) Bakery Square should be a pleasant surprise for those shoppers looking for stores located off the beaten track of Main Street.
